Cinintya’s Blueprint to Space and Style

Cinintya’s Blueprint to Space and Style

There’s something instantly magnetic about someone who knows how to style a space and a statement look. Meet Cinintya, the interior designer who moves through rooms like she was born to reimagine them. Currently lending her sharp eye and tasteful restraint to Bitte Design Studio, one of Indonesia’s buzziest design collectives. With a mind full of textures and a heart full of playful contradictions, she’s redefining what it means to be a creative in a world that never stops scrolling. She lets style and intention go hand in hand, casually of course.

We sat down with Cinintya to talk about what makes her space her own, her favorite it-girls, and what her day off looks like when she’s not dealing with sketchbooks and planning the whole day.

Let’s get into it.

Rollover : Hi Cinin! Please tell us about yourself.

Cinintya : Hi, I’m Cinintya, I’m a person who loves to create. Be it designing a space, making food, or even expressing it through my wardrobe style.

Rollover : What drew you to interior design in the first place?

Cinintya : I’m very passionate about design, how space can make you feel a certain way, but also serves a function, and creates memories. I’m always fascinated by the thought process behind the expression of a space, that different people can have different approaches with problem solving within their design.

Rollover : What’s your signature touch when designing a room? Like a detail that screams, “This is Cinintya’s!”

Cinintya : I always try to push myself to each project. And doing so I’m always trying to play with bold colors, different layers of textures and exploring various pattern details as a vocal point  while maintaining balance throughout the space.

Rollover : What’s one thing you’ve learned about yourself through the way you design?

Cinintya : I learned that I’m detail oriented and I’m always up for a challenge. Because there will always be curveballs in constructing a project.

Rollover : What’s your favorite corner in your own home—and what are 3 things in it right now?

Cinintya : My favorite corner is my living room, It has direct sunlight, and a balcony that sometimes we just open the big window to have the indoor-outdoor feels. It’s the space where I usually make contents, doing some work or sometimes having friends over. I love the big painting made by Eric Pradana, its a painting from me to my family since we don’t have a family portrait, I asked mas Eric to portray our family in his artistic way. Also there’s some small ethnic decoration that are curated by my mom, and decorative lighting placement by my dad. Its a melting pot of me and my parents.

Rollover : If you could describe every shade of WonderBalm! Lip & Blush in one word from interior design/art lingo, what would it be?

Cinintya :

Chloe : Scandinavian
Alexa : Antique

Devon : Minimalist

Mia : Bold

Isabel : Light

Sofia : Mid-century

Rollover : What is your sun, moon, and rising sign?

Cinintya : Sun : Libra, moon : Aquarius, rising : Aquarius

Rollover : Which “it-girl” movie character did you look up to the most?

Cinintya : There’s some in mind, but the first it-girl that comes to mind is the group in the Sex and the City series. It’s a group of women that are not afraid to be themselves, genuine, authentic and confident.

Rollover : What does your dream “day-off” activities look like?

Cinintya : I just love being at home and channeling my other passions such as cooking/baking for my loved ones, making flower arrangements, and sometimes hosting dinner to catch up with my friends and family.

Rollover : Who inspired you to be the person you are today?

Cinintya : Most of them are the incredible women in my life, my mom, both of my principals in the interior studio that I’m working at. They always remind me how amazing women are, the way that we can multitask a lot of stuff, and keeping a great balance between everything they’re working on. It pushes me to be more than I am right now.
